Product Range - Design Options

RETAINER TAPES
Retainer tapes join all the convolutions together. This prevents over extension of the bellows, particularly on long vertical covers. This type of tape folds inside each convolution and increases the compressed length.
 
TONGUE RETAINER TAPES
Tongued tapes also prevent over extension, however because they are cut with the bellow profile and joined between each convolution, they fold outwardly, and therefore, do not increase the compressed length.

VELCRO JOINT
A Velcro joint allows the bellows, to be split and installed around an existing shaft which cannot be accessed from either end. The Velcro can then be joined, giving a dust tight seal. Unfortunately, this type of joint increases the compressed length.

PLATE SUPPORT
The plate support is offered to support long/heavy bellows used as cylinder ram covers and prevents the bellows collapsing, whilst assisting to keep its shape.
 
NECK SUPPORT
A necked support is used generally on lead screw covers. However, it can be used on cylinders. When fitted to a lead screws cover it will prevent the bellows from falling into the thread and tearing.
DOUBLE NECK SUPPORT
The double neck support offers greater protection than the single neck support. However, this type does increase the bellows compression length.

Product Range - Profile Options

ROUND PROFILE
The standard profile used for bellows and generally the cheapest form of protection. The OD and ID can be infinitely variable. However, the differential between outside and inside has limitation and should be ideally no less than 20MM.

SQUARE PROFILE
A square profile offers a more uniform shape when extended and is ideal for long lead screw protection.

HEXAGONAL PROFILE
The hexagonal profile with a circular centre, offers an excellent uniform shape when extended, even when using a large land area, and is therefore used for long extensions with minimum compression ratios.

OCTAGONAL PROFILE
Octagonal profiles are used to over come similar design criteria as above, but on larger applications. Obviously any shaped profile can be produced to suit your particular requirements.
